On the 28th March 2022, Lucintel announced that they had awarded Identiv’s Eco-Friendly High Frequency RFID tags (NFC tags) their “2021 Product Innovation Award in the RFID Market”. The paper tags from Identiv are created with recyclable paper without plastic layers or harmful chemicals giving a lower carbon footprint and environmental impact of other plastic based paper labels.

This is enabled by their innovative laser-manufacturing process on recyclable paper, during the process, all excess aluminium is completely recycled and the paper used is fully repulpable, which is oil contract to competitors who use an etched process with harmful chemicals which then generate chemical by-products that have to be disposed of.
Their tags are available in various sizes and can be customised depending on antenna design. They claim to be the only company delivering eco-friendly HF/NFC products.
Lucintel’s award in innovation and industry excellence are given to recognise outstanding achievements in various industries, they identify the most successful and innovative players in each sectors with the RFID award going to Identiv.
