HID’s 2026 State of Security and Identity Report, which surveyed more than 1,500 end users and industry partners, found that 75% of organizations have already deployed or are actively evaluating converged identity solutions. Identity management ranked as the top strategic priority across all surveyed categories, with 73% of physical security professionals identifying it as a leading trend and 60% planning to increase investment in the area. Despite this momentum, 52% of respondents still cite the complexity of fragmented identity systems as their primary barrier to progress.
