Pomerantz LLP has announced it is investigating whether Identiv, Inc. (NASDAQ: INVE) and certain officers or directors have engaged in securities fraud or other unlawful business practices. The investigation follows a sharp decline in Identiv’s stock price after the company revealed plans to divest its Internet of Things (IoT) assets.

Identiv has long been a prominent name in the RFID and IoT space. The company is known for its portfolio of RFID transponders, including high-frequency (HF) and near-field communication (NFC) inlays and tags used across sectors such as healthcare, logistics, retail, and government security. Its reader hardware and access control solutions have been deployed in enterprise environments worldwide, making the company a significant player in the broader RFID ecosystem.

On June 24, 2026, Identiv announced an agreement to sell its IoT assets and its Thai subsidiary to Trackonomy Systems, Inc. Under the terms of the deal, Identiv would contribute $25 million in cash in exchange for $50 million in Trackonomy preferred equity. The announcement sent shockwaves through the investor community. On June 25, 2026, Identiv’s stock price fell $1.19 per share, a drop of 32.25%, closing at just $2.50 per share.

The scale of the stock decline has raised questions among shareholders about whether the company adequately disclosed material information related to the transaction. Pomerantz LLP, a firm that specializes in corporate, securities, and antitrust class litigation, is now looking into whether investors may have been harmed by the company’s actions or disclosures leading up to the deal.

For the RFID industry, the sale of Identiv’s IoT division represents a notable shift. Identiv’s transponder business has been a key supplier of NFC and HF inlays to brand protection, pharmaceutical, and smart packaging markets. The transfer of these assets to Trackonomy Systems, a company focused on industrial IoT and supply chain automation, could reshape how these products are developed and distributed going forward. Industry observers will be watching closely to see whether Trackonomy maintains the same level of investment in RFID tag innovation that Identiv has provided over the years.

The deal also raises broader questions about consolidation in the RFID sector. As companies look to streamline operations and focus on core competencies, asset sales like this one can create uncertainty for customers, partners, and the wider supply chain. For businesses that rely on Identiv’s transponders and reader technology, the transition period will be critical.

Pomerantz LLP has recovered numerous multimillion-dollar damages awards on behalf of class members in previous securities cases. Investors who purchased Identiv shares and wish to learn more about the investigation are encouraged to contact Danielle Peyton at dpeyton@pomlaw.com or by phone at 646-581-9980, extension 7980.
