New RFID Implementations, Hardware and Tags

The zvoove Group has completed its acquisition of KleanApp, a Bavaria-based software company that uses NFC technology to power digital operations management across the commercial cleaning sector. The deal, announced on March 31, 2026, adds significant NFC-driven capability to the zvoove Clean portfolio and signals growing confidence in contactless technology for workforce management.

KleanApp has built its reputation on delivering practical digital tools for cleaning companies across the DACH region. At the core of its platform sits an NFC-based time tracking and attendance system that allows employees to tap NFC tags at job sites to log their presence in real time. This contactless approach eliminates paper timesheets and manual check-ins, giving operators accurate data on who is working where and when.

The platform supports NFC alongside barcode and terminal-based technologies, but it is the NFC component that stands out for its simplicity and reliability. NFC tags are inexpensive, durable, and require no battery or maintenance once deployed. For cleaning companies managing thousands of facilities, this makes NFC an ideal choice for scalable workforce tracking. Staff simply tap their smartphone or NFC-enabled device against a tag mounted at each location, and the system records the interaction instantly.

Beyond time tracking, KleanApp offers a suite of operational tools including quality inspections, DIN-compliant assessments, intelligent ticketing, and audit management. The platform is trusted by seven of Germany’s top 20 facility management companies and operates across thousands of sites throughout Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

For zvoove, this acquisition follows the August 2025 purchase of Danish platform CleanManager and represents a deliberate push to build a comprehensive digital ecosystem for the cleaning industry. CEO Oliver Muhr described KleanApp as filling a critical gap in specialized quality management, while founder Dr.-Ing. Tobias Schittkowski said that joining zvoove would allow the platform’s vision to reach far more companies across Europe.

The combined zvoove Clean platform now covers the full cleaning company lifecycle, from workforce scheduling and NFC-powered attendance tracking through to quality control and compliance management. The group currently manages operations for approximately 3 million workers with 24 billion euros in annual payroll flowing through its ecosystem.

The acquisition highlights a broader trend in the facilities management sector, where NFC technology is increasingly replacing older methods of time and attendance capture. As cleaning companies look to digitize operations at scale, the low cost and ease of deployment associated with NFC tags make them a natural fit for environments where thousands of locations need to be monitored without complex infrastructure.

With KleanApp now part of its portfolio, zvoove is well positioned to push NFC-enabled operations management across new European markets in the months ahead.
