Travel Startup Launches a New Way to Bring Your Souvenirs to Life with NFC

Berlin-based travel startup Memoried has unveiled a clever new product that turns everyday souvenirs into interactive digital memory portals, powered by NFC technology.

The concept is straightforward but effective. Memoried Stickers are small, NFC-enabled adhesive tags designed to be attached to physical souvenirs like fridge magnets, postcards, or keepsakes picked up during travels. Once a sticker is in place, users link their photos, videos, and personal notes to it through the Memoried app. From that point on, anyone can tap the sticker with a smartphone to instantly view the associated memories in a web browser.

What makes the product particularly accessible is that it requires no app download on the receiving end and no QR code scanning. The NFC tap triggers a browser-based experience directly, lowering the barrier for friends and family who want to interact with shared memories. It is a practical example of how NFC can extend beyond payments and access control into more personal, consumer-facing applications.

The Memoried Stickers campaign is currently live on Kickstarter, offering early-bird pricing for backers. The launch follows a strong track record for the company. In 2025, Memoried’s Smart Travel Canvas raised over $100,000 on Kickstarter and shipped to 699 backers across more than 38 countries. That prior success appears to have built significant momentum for the brand.

Ahead of the new campaign, Memoried ran a teaser effort on Instagram that generated over 3 million impressions and attracted more than 4,000 new followers organically. Those numbers suggest a growing audience hungry for products that blend the physical and digital worlds.

The technology behind the stickers relies on standard NFC, the same short-range wireless protocol found in contactless bank cards and smartphone tap-to-pay systems. By embedding an NFC chip in a thin sticker format, Memoried has created something that can be retrofitted onto almost any physical object, turning it into a digital touchpoint without altering its appearance or function.

Memoried operates under the legal entity Moments Forever GmbH, headquartered in Berlin. The company’s focus sits squarely at the intersection of NFC hardware and consumer experience design, targeting travellers who want a richer way to preserve and share their adventures.

For the RFID and NFC industry, products like Memoried Stickers represent an interesting frontier. While much of the NFC conversation centres on logistics, retail, and authentication, consumer memory-sharing is a use case that could help drive broader public familiarity with tap-based interactions.
