What the rule requires
Suppliers in the covered categories must ship RFID-ticketed products for every channel except drop-ship. Nordstrom has not published how far the requirement has since been extended.
Status: In force since 2022; current scope not published
What it means for RFID
Nordstrom's requirement is a retailer mandate for UHF RFID: suppliers in the covered product categories must ship RFID-ticketed goods for every channel except drop-ship. That puts the job of sourcing and applying UHF RFID tickets on the supplier, before goods reach Nordstrom.
The requirement has applied since 2022 to suppliers in tested categories, but Nordstrom has not published how far it has since been extended. Suppliers should confirm with Nordstrom which of their categories are covered.
